Kaizen comes from the Japanese words meaning school of wiseness. Indeed it is a school of knowledge if it can be applied properly. It seeks continuous growth in any thing that it is applied to. This can be on a personal or a professional level. The best part about this theory is that it can be applied anywhere and anytime. It does not demand drastic change or any severe alterations in the present system. Whatever the targets may be, the general procedure is based on the plan, do, check, and act method. This method developed by W. Edwards Deming was brought into action in Japan in the 1950s. The idea is to outset and foremost develop a good and achievable plan, then do the needful as required in the plan. Then you need to critically evaluate whatever you have done. The final step depends upon the check step, and then begins the entire circle once again. This is how kaizen plant life in a company.
